Positive Reflection

Hello folks, greetings after one and half month.

Today I have to reflect on one moment from the three-month-long Amal fellowship that has an impact on me. Although there were many moments and incidents that have an impact on me e.g. Edhi donation drive, our mega project (Model Classroom), mock interviews etc. It was a great journey and I learnt a lot especially Gratitude because I was kind of a complaining person but now I am trying to change myself. I am trying to become a good human being. Gratitude is a great personality trait and it is must to have this trait.

The one incident that has a huge impact on me was the Amal Academy Donation Drive. It was an amazing experience. It was my first time that I collected donation for any foundation. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to collect handsome amount. It wasn’t about the money that how much or less I collected but it was about the satisfaction and inner peace that I got. It was the feeling that I did something for society. I was so ungrateful that I never thought that how privileged I am. There are people who are going through so much. People who don’t have food to eat, clothes to wear, shelter to live and water to drink. People who are fighting dangerous diseases. This taught me that I should be grateful to Allah, to my parents and to everyone no matter how I am going through my life because I am still in better condition than most people.

This realization was the result of my circle members because they took this activity seriously and we as a team wanted to bring positive change to society. Every member was enthusiastic to contribute. We made strategies to collect more and more donations from people. Haris was so passionate that he made charity boxes and placed them in shops. Through this dedication, we were able to collect the highest donation in our batch. The goal was not to get the award but to get as many donations as we can to bring positive change in someone’s life.

Looking back, I don’t think that we would do things differently. We tried our best and I think we achieved what we aimed for. For this, I would like to thank my circle members and everyone who contributed to this drive.
